Prior to joining BenninkAmar Advocaten, Tessie worked as a Legal Consultant at Deloitte and as a Lecturer at the Vrije Universiteit (“VU”) in Amsterdam. At Deloitte, Tessie advised clients on a variety of topics within the Sanctions and Export Controls Team and the Commercial Law Team. She also gained practical experience through her involvement within a long-running CDD Remediation. As a teacher at the VU, Tessie was responsible for giving lectures and for the development of teaching materials for the course Contract Law.

During her studies, Tessie acquired experience at (international) law firms in International Trade and Transport Law, Business Law and Insurance Law. As a student-assistant, she was involved in the preparation of a dissertation in the field of Transport Law. Tessie further dedicated an entire academical year to a board position (at the “LKvV”) on a national level to represent the interests of more than 40,000 students.

To broaden her horizons, Tessie studied Management and Business for a trimester in Melbourne during her Bachelor of Laws. Tessie obtained her Master of Laws (LLM) Commercial Law (Maritime & Transport Law) at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2018. As part of her Master thesis, she conducted a survey-research of which she presented the results at the Work and Employment in an Era of Platform Capitalism conference in Paris.

Tessie joined BenninkAmar Advocaten in February 2021.
