On 20 June 2017, the US designated 38 people and entities under the US Russia sanctions regime, for involvement in the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine, and also 20 subsidiaries were identified that are owned 50% or more by designated AK Transneft OAO. According to the US Treasury, “US sanctions on Russia related to the situation in eastern Ukraine will remain in place until Russia fully honours its obligations under the Minsk Agreements. US sanctions related to Crimea will not be lifted until Russia ends its occupation of the peninsula.”
