EU and Swiss alignment on sanctions

On 28 February 2017, The EU Council published its conclusions on its assessment of the overall state of the EU relationship with Switzerland. One of the conclusions is that the EU Council encourages Switzerland to remain consistent in its application of the restrictive measures, including preventing any circumvention of sanctions. Switzerland is also invited to maintain its alignment with the EU Russia sanctions regime. Switzerland voluntary aligns to EU sanctions on a case-by-case basis.
